Default Treatment of LCD\'s when there is an interuption in usage?

What are the guidelines when using LCD's and there will be a known period of non-usage during a session? Specifically, at what point do you turn off the monitors? What is the recommended time for the screen saver setting? I would think there is a max +EV point somewhere between turning them on/off every 5 minutes and letting the run for an hour with no usage.

TIA

LCD screens don't need screensavers... unlike CRT screens.

I lied... I woke up today to my LCD screen having a permanent imprint of the background picture.

So, keep the screensaver on... maybe after 20 mins of no use.

AFAIK, that will go away as you charge/discharge the pixels again. It's more like a "memory" than a "burn". Of course this might not help us poker players

That was the way I was when I first got my CRT. I know we are comparing apples to oranges but I've had my screensaver time extended to about 3 hours and nothing has happened yet. I changed it back after a few days, though.
