iPod transfer question

sorry if this has been discussed before but I was wondering how I can transfer downloaded music onto my iPod. I can listen to whatever mp3 from iTunes but I don't see how I can update my iPod. I remember there was an "update" option before but I think that appeared after I copied music from a CD. I downloaded music from SoulSeek and want to transfer them to my iPod.

Please help. Thanks.

If you have the latest version of Itunes, it should automatically update each time you plug your ipod into your computer.
