I.E. problem
Hello. I've now tried annoyances.org, windows.com, and comcast.com and I still can't figure out a very basic problem. My I.E. doesn't connect since I got cable connection. It loads, but it gives that stupid "page cannot be found" page. I think I need to configure something in Tools and Internet Options and Connections, but I have no idea what to click. Anybody know what to do? Thanks so much to any help.
BTW, under conncetions, it shows xxxxxx.comcast and a port number, but the top two boxes aren't clicked. This is XP. |

Re: I.E. problem
Do you mean just IE does not get to the Internet? or does you PC not get to the Internet.
From a C:> prompt can you ping www.twoplustwo.com? or does it say request timed out? |

Re: I.E. problem
Unless your cable provider has instructed you otherwise, everything on the Tools/Internet Options/Connections tab, and under the LAN Settings button on there should be UNchecked (text in the greyed out boxes is ignored). That's about all you need to look at in IE itself... can other applications connect OK - email etc?
