I don't think there is such a thing as 'bad luck', it's just variance at the end of the day, sorry but luck and poker don't mix if you ask me. Thus I've voted #3.

Actually, varience is based entirely on luck, and therefore luck is a huge part of poker, even for winning players.

It's not, it's just statistics. In the long term it all evens out, in streaks.

Fair enough.

I still stand by my statement, but I see your side of it.

The long term is longer than your lifetime. So good/bad luck definately is something that exist for all poker players.

Thats what all luck is, If you win the Lotto its considered luck but its really just statistics as well.

As for my luck I seem to get both kinds of bad luck. However I have not played for that long so my bad luck experiences are limited

I will tell you a story. Three days ago i had my best day ever, played 70 tourneys and won 550$, day after that i didn't play at all. And yesterday, i had the absolutely worst day ever, lost 400$ over 70 tourneys. Beginning today i was abit low in spirits after the huge hit the day before, the day started like the last one ended, dropped another 100 rapidly. Managed to get back to breakeven a few tourneys later. I was about to call it day since i was pretty pissed off at this point over the endless suckouts. However i decided to play 8 more tournaments, so i started them all up, and suddenly i was hitting sets, flushes, straights and doubling all over the place. When the dust settled i had 8 straight in the money for a profit of 400$.

Variance can be a bitch, i hate it.

luck doesnt even out.If you flip a coin 200000 times and in the first 100 get 60 heads and 40 tails, chances are u will get 100010 heads and 999990 tails NOT 100000 heads and 100000 tails. do u see y?

Alright, but 10 out of 100,000 is not really noticeable as luck, that is all I'm saying. I guess you can have good or bad beginning luck yeah, especially in regard to something like an MTT, but over thousands of STTs, luck does, for the most part (barring the odd little blip or anomaly) even out.
