Another SnG I was in.

Button was limping with good cards and was a calling station. You are almost certainly getting a call and you are almost certainly going to be a 55% favorite when he does.

After that it's up to you.

I hate this play. Just complete and play from there. Why risk a possible call from the 2nd stack just to add less than 10% to your stack. You're comfortably in first. Do you really want to gamble your position like this?

I've picked up some vibes on a few threads here where the push provoked the call where the caller said they would have folded to a more standard (umm, non 2+2 I guess) raise. Do you think that the push is more effective here than a $600 - $1000 raise? Sorry if it's a donk question...

I'm not an expert by any means but I don't get cute. If the situation calls for a push, I just push. Another poster made an excellent point that for every player that sees your less than all-in raise as "tricky" and folds, several others will not realize that you're pot committed and will attempt to re-raise to push you out. Not what you want. Just push when it's called for.

HEY!!! That poster was me!!! I made an excellent point!!! Lol -- just excited is all.

BTW, I don't push here. I call and play the hand. You're still really scary on the flop and can know if someone gambles into you that they've likely got something (because they know you're not scared of their stack).

I'd go with call....
Floping a set is 1/8 odds your getting 1/7 odds by calling. Stick with calling, flop a set and bust a player.
