Default Heads Up Play

I was just wondering what do you do with low pocket pairs heads up. For example if you are in the small blind with 2-2 and raised against by the button, what do you do? I know the buttons raising allot of hand and 2-2 id probably the best, but its only 55 to 45. How does this change with deep stacks and short stacks compared to the blinds? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I usually push these! But, I might be wrong in doing so.
