I refuse to try and follow this. For your benefit (and others, as I can assure you I'm not alone), please do more than cut and paste. Give us the stack sizes, and the hand. All that other crap can be deleted. Thanks.

Muuuuuch better.

If you're going to raise PF, raise more. I'd say to 100. Calling isn't bad either, but keep in mind you really want to play for set value if you call.

Raise the flop. Why would you call? Do you think you're behind and are trying to hit your miracle ten? Do you think you're ahead of overcards and a pair, or a draw and want him to catch up? That flop must be raised if you raise it PF. You're letting him control the hand. After you do that, the rest of the hand will go differently.

As for how you played it, I grit my teeth and call hoping he overplayed A9.

Ok, now that we have a hand. You have 2 limps. You have position, and blinds yet to act. Raise more. 3x's BB is when it hasn't been opened. Add the limpers. 5 to 6 x's here. So let's say raise to 100. If UTG reraises, you'll know he limped a monster. Say they still call, raise the flop. You have got to define your hand. You really look like you were simply trying to steal here and missed. He may be doing this with nothing, or a draw. No way to tell at this point.

The only other way is weak tight, limp for set value, dumping when missed. Don't know if I like it with a hand like TT, but it is real early.

Later,
Rick

Thanks guys.

I called on the river, and he turned over A9. I was hoping that was what he had. You guys are right, I should've raised to at least $100 preflop and then raised again after the flop, if he re-raises I can lay it down. My only fear was he had a small pair and hit his set. Thanks again, it is much appreciated.
