Re: Big Blind/KK - no action
In situations like this, I like to check in the BB. It is much easier to trap in this situation. Although if an ace comes off on the flop, I might check/fold this(afterall its only level 1 and you have plenty of time to build your stack.)

Re: Big Blind/KK - no action
I voted 3-5bb raise, but would it be entirely crazy to push? I had a game yesterday where I picked up aces on the first hand. I've never done this before but I pushed from UTG. Sure enough, I got the curiosity call from KJo. On the off chance that button has a PP or is a complete moron, I'd consider pushing with the kings. I'm guessing you'd get called maybe 10% of the time... Not to mention that if you do get called, that's gotta help your FE later!

Let's start building a pot. I'll raise to 50ish.

He calls with KJ, putting you on a steal with two cards. He hits his jack, and checks so you can take a weak stab at the pot with your trashy hand. You oblige, and bet 1/2 pot. Good times. Checking is not awful, but these donkeys love to call. Let them. |
