Default pot odds question

im i correct in thinking that pot odds have no importance preflop, because there is no money already in the pot?

No. Even if you are first to act, there is always the blind money already in the pot. If you act after limpers or raisers, their money is also in the pot.

but the pot odds preflop are soley dependant on how many limpers there are aren't they? and the blinds are not variable.
