Default question for tech heads

can anyone give any insight on whether there will be an expanding market for switch/routers with higher than 300 Gbps throughput? two main factors to consider are the growth of IP traffic in general and the sorts of layer 2/3 protocols that will be dominant in the coming years.

I did say that this was a tech question.

I see places setting up networks all the time. The demand will only increase. Look at all the data that is flowing now. Books, forms, and pubs are being put online and taken out of the filing cabinet. I just came across a 15,000 page reports guide at work. Imagine if I hit print!!! lol I don't know much about routers and switches, but Cisco and Sun seem to be doing well, even with the downturn in the economy.

that is all,
