What effect does lowering the rake have? (crosspost)
TStoneMBD's post in small stakes got me wondering what effect a lower rake would have. Would everyone's winrate increase proportionally with the decrease in rake, or would some players benefit more than others? If so, why?

Re: What effect does lowering the rake have? (crosspost)
Most likely nobody will make any significant adjustments to their play if there were no rake. So just look at PT to find out how much rake you pay in comparison to everyone else. I've found I pay 1/2 of average rake in full-ring, and 2/3 in short-handed.
So it's not even - the people who pay the most rake now will benefit the most. |

This depends. It will help the loose players and the more aggressive players more, since they will be contributing more. It also depends on the limit. If you're playing $10/20 where there are a lot of pots being capped, it will make less difference for the aggressive players since you will take a full rake more often.
Of course, lowering the rake will have a positive affect on all players. |
