Default KTo - OESD rivers TP: Should I bet the river?

UTG is LP-P. Button is semi loose PF, and passive. No read on UTG+1.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 3 folds, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (6 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players)
SB bets, Hero calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP3 calls, Button calls.

Turn: (6 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets, MP3 folds, Button calls, SB folds, Hero calls, UTG calls.

River: (10 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, Button checks.
Going into the river, I was planning to bet out if I hit my A or 9. I thought that maybe a K would be good too, but I didn't know whether to bet/call, bet/fold, or check/call. Should I have bet this? If so, do I call or fold to a raise?

Final Pot: 10 BB
Main Pot: 10 BB, between UTG+1, Button, Hero and UTG.

six players, I'd raise the flop. You only need 3 callers to break even.

first off i like a raise on the flop to drive out opponents. on the river i like a bet call. at this point you have to believe your hand is good considering no one has shown any coordinated betting, if someone comes over the top of you pot odds dictate that you call.

good luck,
johnny

Where's your Ralphie picture? I miss him...

Anyway, with this crew I would bet for 2 reasons. First, we've all seen passive players check their pairs when a higher card comes. Second, many worse hands will call you here.

Several people have advocated raising the flop, but I don't see the point in that. You can't make a better king fold (K-Q and K-J won't fold, and there is no A-K out there), and you probably won't get to act last (one of these people will probably cold call the raise), so just keep everyone in and build a pot for your draw.

If four people call his raise on the flop, he's making money.
