I am kicking myself for not buying Duane Reed Pharmacy after having my college roommate (the NYC anesthesiologist recommend it). I don't think he had any idea it was a takeover target. Since I was not familiar with it and he did not articulate any specific reasons for buying it, other than a general feeling that they were solid, I didn't go for it.

But heck he made about 70% or so in one week on it. Got lucky and it got bought up.

There is a lot to be said for buying a small, solid, cheap company in an industry where consolidation is happening.

JCP up today because they may get more for Eckard's which is one reason I held JCP at one time.

Too late now.

Still praying for ODP to go up. Hoping for 17/18 by March. But if a miracle happens, may get 20 or 21 some day. (just need a series of record earnings reports.)

Bought 12,000 shares at average price of 15.76 in Sept.
