Default Possible World Record?

you think party is the place to play?

i'm just out of ladbrokes, a europe-only site

i was in the bb and received A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

utg called, then fold, call, call, fold, fold, call, fold, fold, i checked

flop was T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

i thought of check-raising but decided to bet in case a K or Q or a spade turned and i was out of position to follow up

utg called, then call, call, fold

turn was A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

i decided they wouldn't be afraid of me having an Ace so i bet again

utg raised, then call, fold

i figured utg for AJ or thereabouts and so i reraised - he capped - oops - maybe he slowplayed 44 or 33 or even TT? - call, i call

bliss! the river is the miracle A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

i bet, utg raised, fold, i reraised, utg called

i took down a very decent pot with a great hand

so what was his hand?

Mike I made a return visit to Ladbrokes, on the recommendation of a mate, after a 6 month+ absence.

I sat down in one of the 'best' 3/6 game I've ever played in.
And lost $150 in an hour.

You're right. Ladbrokes players suck.
I guess that's the high English player quotient, who really suck at (limit) Poker.

So you sucked out on the nuts with a six outer. Man that is a worlds record. I am normally beat by 1 or 2 outers on the river.

Default Europeans can\'t play limit poker

Oh man it's unbelievable. I watched a 20-40 game there a few months ago, and saw this hand: UTG raised, and 2 players coldcalled. The SB made it 3 bets and the BB called. 5 to the flop for 15 sb. The flop came K T 4 rainbow and both blinds checked. UTG bet and ... EVERYONE folded. I'm not making this up.

Can you please tell me where you're getting these 6 outs? Thanks.

yeah

well

mumble

as Inthacup points out, it's actually only 4 outs as the cards were dealt

so i should apologise to him for my suckout - he was probably expecting me too i guess

but it's only a game of luck so what does he want?

Default Re: P.S. Why not raise preflop

i have got into the habit of not raising from the bb pre-flop unless i have a giant hand which i am almost definitely going to pursue after the flop

first, if i have something like ATs i want to "hide" its strength with certain flops, and second, almost the opposite, i don't want to announce strength then find myself "having" to bet from up front rather than perhaps make a preferable one-off check-call, if i am given only a fairish flop

what would you raise with p/f in the bb?

Default Close second, or when to call with Ace high.

so i'm utg+1 and open-raise with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] - two callers and bb

flop is 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] - great - a rainbow flop with no cards of any use to anyone - i bet, call, call, call

turn is 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] - uh-oh - A6s-type danger - i bet, one caller

river is J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] - thinks: dang - Ace-high - i'll check

he bets - oh well - i'll call just in case he's bluffing at a decent pot

computer shoves the pot to me and my Ace-flush

he says "gh"

i say "ty"

i run away and hide
