We can't just have everyone deciding what laws to follow and what not to, and then not enforce anything. As a citizen, I believe there is a moral obligation to society to follow the law.

I also believe that when a law is in place to protect members of society, as these piracy are in place to protect the creators and those who support them, there is a further moral obligation to follow that law.

Obviously, there are varying degrees of morality, and downloading a song or a movie is not high on the list. But that doesn't mean it "isn't a law" or that it's perfectly ethical to steal.
