party poker river myth?
i play online holdem at party poker mainly. i am new to the game and have never played live. i have seen many players complain about PP and the supposed bad beats. My question is is there any truth to all the bad beat talk about poker stars, does it differ from live poker in terms of the beats, are other sites closer to live play?

Re: party poker river myth?
there are less bad beats at stars because there are less bad players. Enjoy a bad beat.

Re: party poker river myth?
When more people are in there are more bad beats. Also online you get many more hands then in live play so you will see more bad beats.

Re: party poker river myth?
If you look at the statistics, there will be bad beat bitching about any 7 card game, anywhere. Why? Because most pat 5 card hands are made on the 7th card. Ie: you don't see many pat hands dealt in 5 card draw (before the draw), you see a few more with a 6th card, most are made on the 7th card.
In addition: Party and Stars (and prob anybody else) are making a fortune collecting your tourn entry fees, and collecting the rakes on ring tables. If anybody thinks they would be fools enough to "doctor" the hand results and risk the reputation that makes them the millions, you have to believe in the tooth fairy also. Besides, just how would anyone propose that they do that with 9000 players and 1000 tables (or twice that on party)? Do you really think they care who wins on any one table? All the complaining is basically from people who don't realize what the statistics really are of having your initial AA or KK busted on 7 cards. Try a few dozen hands on pokenum. Re: party poker river myth?
Anyone who thinks there are less bad beats on Stars hasn't been to a 2+2 SNG anytime recently.
