Any other recommendations out there from the 2+2 community on this? I don't have any MP3 player yet, and have found that people either love iPods or hate them. What about the other brands?

I would love to see some responses, as i am thinking of purchasing the iPod mini, which is 4GB and holds about 1000 songs, which is more than enough for me.

www.cnet.com has reviews. the dell jukebox, for example, is cheaper and has WAY better battery life. but...it doesn't have the sweet ipod user interface and it's larger. there are a lot of players on the market, it mostly depends on your size/battery life needs.

The mini is SWEET. I got it imported via E-Bay, highly recommended.

I have the Creative Labs Nomad Zen NX 30GB player and love it. It's $229 on sale at either Best Buy or Circuit City right now. The buttons are located on the sides, instead of the front, but otherwise it's about the same specs as the iPod for less money. The battery is replaceable, which was the main knock against the previous model of the Zen.

I have a Rio Nitrus That I like very much. Holds 1.5gb (about 20-25 hrs of mp3 music) and no moving parts inside to cause problems. I have been very happy with it.
