Default Desktop using Laptop as second monitor

Is it possible to use your Laptop monitor as a Second monitor for your desktop computer? If so, how do I go about setting this up?

(I know you can do it the otherway around, as in, setting up an extra monitor for your laptop) That however, is not what I want, as my laptop is very old and slow.

yes, there has to be a way but it cant be worth it. why not just buy a crappy CRT? the effort/cost to configure the laptop lcd to work would probably equal the CRT cost
