First hand of Step 1 Tourney - PP
First hand of tourney - no history with villain, however, as soon as I sat down, the villian posted the fact that he was going all-in on every hand. I took that information with a good bit of skepticism.

I also thought that if he did actually have a hand, I could start another tourney quickly, and if not, I'd double up. Pretty standard or a little too loose for the first hand? Results below |

Results:
Hero has Td Ts (flush, ace high). Button has 3s Qh (two pair, aces and queens). Outcome: Hero wins t1610. Really not trying to be results oriented, but wanted others opinion on the play. I also am wondering if the "all-in" every hand might have been a ploy to try and accumulate some chips on the very first hand of the tourney, because you have to figure not too many people will believe you are going all-in every hand, so you might be able to steal for a round or two. I wouldn't have tried it unless I actually had a hand, even though the hand was far from a premium hand, I figured for the first hand, why not take a shot. |

Re: First hand of Step 1 Tourney - PP
I think that based on his comments and the low buyin of the tournament, that you made a good call. You have to finish in the top 2 to get anything here, so if this is a clear +ev spot, which is very likely is, you should take it. |

Re: First hand of Step 1 Tourney - PP
Limp or make a bigger raise (I limp tens, raise jacks here) and you're good to go.
The call is fine. |
