ceczar,

Thanks for pointing out these articles. The first one should spark interest in attracting more people to the game.

Andrew Glazer has been looking for some way to rank tournament players. Previous methods that Card Player magazine used do not work. They would just tally up all the wins and would not count the losses. I pointed this out over a year ago. The correct way to measure successes at tournaments is the same way you do in side games. You add up your net profits. This could be easily done, since all major tournaments give you a receipt for your entry, and they know who won. Whoever ran the tournament could come up with the real truth of how much you spent, except for satellites where they don't keep track. But, do they want to tell the real truth. There are players that frequently win tournaments, but because they enter so many they really don't make much money and are in the red. The exceptions are players that do win some of the big tournaments. But, how many 10k events are their for people to win. Not many.

Good Luck

Mark
