Default StillPoker

We all know how important it is to pick up on each players tendencies, physical gestures, and implicit act of their disposition, which we call it the "tell". Many advanced players are keen enough to detect these handicaps from mediocre players and take advantage of this situation to benefit gainfully.

That's great! With no doubt, it's part of a game.

How about the big mouths, rude second contenders, I'm not in the hand but I know what he's holding types, and the list can go on and on.

Why can't the cardroom supervisors have difficult time implementing a rule where a hand is being played that all players remain silent until that specific round is complete. Frequently, I've seen

players being influenced by a third party to make a decision either than on their own.

Perspectively, I understand that poker is huge social event but only to a degree like any other sport event. The poker ambiance is perfect for meeting people from all walks of life. However, everything that involves people usually comes with general degree of professionalism and manners. "Guidelines" such as no talking across the board or no hinting to your neighbor by tapping one's leg or other obvious misconducts.

It would be nice to keep poker real

and interesting by attending to the silence of the game. Let the silence of the game teach us.

I disagree. Poker isn't chess and the casino isn't a library. As long as your not discussing the play of the hand going on at the moment I don't see anything wrong with talking. Talk about poker can certainly be irritating but your always welcome to ask other players to refrain. The political discussions are what irritate me the most. I'm usually quiet but I like having a conversation with a friend from time to time. since I'm such a friggin rock it can make the time go by quicker.

poker is meant to be a social game, the no talking would really take something away from the game. heck I usually say bizarre things when I'm in a hand to get peoples reactions. A much better rule IMHO would be no talking about a hand that is in progress that you are not competing in. if you folded keep your mouth to yourself and comment on sports or something but don't talk about the hand. as for people who aren't in the hand and say what they think people have they should be shot, luckily I don't see this thing happen often, only 5 times I can remember and 3 of those times at least someone was almost aggravated to the point of violence, people do not like it when you may jeopardize a hand that they could win or lose some (maybe a lot) of money on. but even then disallowing all talk is overkill to the extreme and would simply make the game no fun. and remember no fun, no fish.
