Re: My BASIC guide to beating each level ($30/50/100/200\'s)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] 30+3: 1) Stay tight 2) If under 10BB, push/steal to survive if it's +EV (ie: use ICM). 3) Do not get fancy: No pvs, no impetus, no stop n go, etc. They will call. [/ QUOTE ] I hate to keep beating this dead horse, but stop and goes work better at the lower levels than the upper levels, not the other way around. At the lower levels: Damn, I didn't get my A or K. He must have something, he's putting all his chips in the pot. What are the chances I'll get an Ace or King on the turn. I better fold -- I don't want to lose another 300 chips. At the higher levels: That bastard is pulling a stop and go on me. I'm calling his ass. [/ QUOTE ] This might be true. I wouldn't know as far as the upper levels go. I will say that at the 10's and 20's, stop and go's seem to be an addiction with some players. I guess it's one of the first "fancy plays" a lot of people get exposed to and want to try out. I wouldn't be surprised if many people make calls specifically to try it. An ace or king doesn't come out on the flop, and boom, in go 200 or 300 chips UTG instantly. Call and you find out the guy had nothing. People at lower level love exhibiting Fancy Play Syndrome. |

Re: My BASIC guide to beating each level ($30/50/100/200\'s)
That's because it actually works. Stop and goes are not working too often, but pushing preflop really doesn't work at all. You don't need to represent anything special for it to work, and your opponent doesn't need give you a lot of credit.
