Default Airlines / United

Alright, so I know almost nothing about stocks. But I like to gamble, so a few months ago I bought a few thousand shares of some United Airlines at like $1.43. My broker is Etrade, and they have applicable news blurbs.

In the last week or so, there has been no news about united, but the stock is soaring. Do any of you know why?

Various thoughts I've had are that the decreasing gas prices (especially for this time of year) is helping the industry as a whole.

The Delta pension settlement (there was one, wasn't there?) is clearing the way for United, and this may help them come out of bankruptcy.

But no news....

Josh
