Computer running slow, any tune ups or quick fixes?
I have cable internet, the last day or so my computer/internet has been really laggy and my cpu usage is jumping up to 100% just for a website.
Any fixes or ideas? |

I have cable and I have the same problems.
It seems theres several of us with this dilema. I keep thinking it's some poker download we made that changed our performance so drastically recently. |

Did a deep scan and found a tracker I missed the first time, also cleaned out my firefox cache and cookies. My connection seems to be fine now.

Use crap cleaner! Cleans all kind of crap, like (most) spyware and temporary internet files. You can even set it to autoclean when starting up your computer.

Sound advice. Also be aware that other network-aware applications you might be running in the background can hog your bandwidth - eg. p2p downloads like eDonkey etc, especially if you have changed the network settings to use a high number of connections simultaneously.
