A question on Star Wars and human stupidity
Question #1) Lawrence Kasdan helped write the Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Raiders of the Lost Ark masterpieces. However, he was not included in writing episodes 1-3. Lucas wrote the recent three solo. Why is this?
Question #2) Episode 1 and 2 sucked balls. Just about everyone agrees on this. So why did episode 3 break box office records??? http://money.cnn.com/2005/05/20/news...s/sith_dayone/ I don't get it. Do people never learn? How many crappy movies does Lucas have to make before peope stop going? Please keep in mind that this doesn't mean the newest movie is a crappy one, I'm just commenting on peoples ability to learn from experience. |

Re: A question on Star Wars and human stupidity
I would say it's almost something of a cult following. I loved Star Wars 4-5 (and to some extent 6) so much that I can't not go see Ep. 3 in tribute. I have no intention of seeing again, though, until maybe I will watch parts of it if it is on again on cable in a year+.

Re: A question on Star Wars and human stupidity
Critics and the mass public liked (loved?) this movie in general.
I don't see you needing much more reason that that for why this movie did so well. |

[/ QUOTE ] I haven't seen the movie. Still, I'm surprised it had such a big smash. The last one had a huge opening as well and it wasn't that great of a movie. |

[/ QUOTE ] Not to be a smartass, but my point is there was nothing to 'learn' for the third one, because for some reason it got great critical and word-of-mouth publicity, and people want to see it. Your inquiry would make more sense if the public and critics hated Ep 3 as much as the first 2, yet it still broke records. |

Re: A question on Star Wars and human stupidity
I think people flocked to see this movie hoping it wasn't going to suck possibly because they were hoping Lucas could learn from his mistakes and also because this episode contains the transformation from Anakin to Vader. However, the transformation was horrible and so was the movie on a whole.

Looks like this is not the case: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star_wars_3/ Then again clones got 65% http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star...of_the_clones/ |
