DVD Burning
So I want to burn the new Family Guy movie, but I don't want it to take 2 hours to burn one DVD.
What in the hell am I doing wrong that it takes so god damn long to burn? |

Re: DVD Burning
Where did you get the movie? I've looked on various torrent sites with no success downloading the full version.

Re: DVD Burning
What's the source? How big's the source? What kind of discs? Is your burner at least 4x? If it's an old one when's the last time you updated the firmware (if possible)?

Re: DVD Burning
I got it from someone who got it off IRC or a torrent site.

Re: DVD Burning
I haven't tried to burn this movie yet, but others have taken forever in all different formats.
The burner is brand new. 12x I think? Discs are 8x. |

Re: DVD Burning
Most likely its the type of file it is i have the whole dragon ball gt series on my comp and it will take like 15 hours to put on dvd as far as i know there is no way around this. I asked the same question in the dvd shrink forum and no one had good news for me.

Re: DVD Burning
A process such as this is time consuming. There are so many conversions, that it will surely take a while. There is no way around this, I have been doing it for years.

Re: DVD Burning
Did you convert the .mpg or .avi files to DVD formats like .vob and stuff? I just burned a good quality version of The Wedding Crashers in like 20 minutes, max. I also have a really good computer, though. I think I burned it at 4x, even though mine supports 16x. I just can't afford the more expensive DVDs that support 16x.

Re: DVD Burning
Yea, I've done both. I've converted and I've also left it avi and as a vcd. Both took a dickyear.
