Default Was this a terrible fold?

Party 22.

My thoughts. He could have AK and then I am still only 55% fav. I can fold and still have enough chips to play. of course he could have had 22-JJ but it seemed like he wanted a call.

Your thoughts?

Funny thing is, if he would have pushed I would have called in a second. His 300 raise leaving him with 265 looked very much like he wanted a call.

Well shoot, this is just wierd.

He doesn't minreraise, so it isn't INCREDIBLY suspect -- on the other hand, he raises enough to leave himself just 265 behind, obviously pot committing himself while trying to minimize (?) fold equity.

I personally couldn't find a fold here. But a) I don't play 109s, and b) I'm not very good. I don't know though. It's a pretty wierd raise. Maybe you made the right play.

EDIT: Shoot, for some reason I read this as a 109. At a 22, I push here everytime. A lot of people just do stuff because they don't know any better. Unless I have a read on him as solid, I probably don't consider folding here.

Folding is terrible. You're seeing monsters under the bed. Sure, sometimes he'll have AA, KK, or AK (god forbid you have to take the good side coinflip with an overlay!). The majority of times at this level he will have a hand against which you're at least a 2:1 favorite.

I push and sigh as he insta-calls with AA.

I've noticed a lot of players doing this lately. Players that should know better. And they are doing it way too often for it to be AA/KK. So I'd push here 100% of the time.

I've seen AA, 88 and all hands inbetween, and they 99% call the push too. (Always with AA obviously..)
