AKs, flop trips, slowplay? $33
What do you do on stuff like this? I've got the deck crippled...check behind, or just hope someone has the case king?

Do whatever you normally do with AQ here.

I don't think you could have done much differently. I too would have lead out about 1/3 of the pot, and hoped they had anything to call with.

i would have slowplayed. i don't think you're afraid of any hands, and even though it might be obvious that your slowplaying a king later on, you might get a few more chips out of it.

Re: AKs, flop trips, slowplay? $33
Your best chance of getting paid off with this hand is simply to lead out and hope someone has a worse king. By the time they figure out they aren't good, all the money will be in the center. However if you take a line like check then raise later in the hand someone should get away from a hand like KQ there. A bet here is a lot less suspicious than a check.

Re: AKs, flop trips, slowplay? $33
I disagree with the previous posters. You still have one player behind you on the button left to act. Go ahead and check. Even if someone picks up a flush draw on the turn you are still at least a 4-1 favorite. If someone is sitting on a pair and hits their full house on the turn, you still have a redraw on the river.
With the non paired card being a 2, no one is going to call you. Now if it's a card in the playing range like 10 or above, go ahead and bet because you might get a call with 2 pair and you need to charge any possible draws. Also bet if there are 2 of the same suit on the flop. In this case there is not. |

I like checking here quite a bit more if OP doesn't c-bet everything he misses.

All they need is someone to give them the "OK" to do so by checking. This is an ideal flop for a slowplay. Milk them like a Holstein. |

Re: AKs, flop trips, slowplay? $33
Ya thats about as safe a flop as your going to see, no flush draw or anything so I would say its safe and probably more profitable to at least check the flop and hope for some action on 4th. Your small continuation bet seems like a reasonably good play though.
