Pocket Tens, rags on the flop, do I call an allin?
Is this weak tight? Just too tight, or good fold?

What buyin level are we talking about?

Re: Pocket Tens, rags on the flop, do I call an allin?
with 5 people seeing the flop, i gotta think you're beat here. if you're a winning player at this level, whatever the buy in is, i think you should fold. if you lose generally at this level, i'd call con mucho gusto.
i think a case could be made to call...since you were acting last...wow. i think i'd fold. that's tough, though. did he show? i want to know now. |

Re: Pocket Tens, rags on the flop, do I call an allin?
This was Party Poker $55 buyin. I don't get too many "gratuity" shows in my games. Nor do I ask, as it seems inappropriate.
I just find that these hands tend to get bought by AK, especially since he was short stacked. I just had so little invested into the hand, I thought it was worth it to stay out of trouble. Thus the fold, and subsequent question. |

FWIW, If I had a larger chip stack this would have been a call.

Call. In my opinion this is not a close decision.
BB has an underpair to your TT or a 4 >90% of the time. Irieguy |

Re: Pocket Tens, rags on the flop, do I call an allin?
I'd call. IMO, the BB has a 6 in this position most of the time, and wants to win the pot before an overcard kills his hand. If he has a higher overpair and didn't raise before the flop, make notes that that's how he plays. If he has two pair or a straight, that's just the way it goes. But with no raise pre-flop, I'd call here.

Re: Pocket Tens, rags on the flop, do I call an allin?
This looks like a shortish stack playing too agressively to me. Villian probably has some sort of hand -- most likely a pair of sixes and figures on a ragged flop like that no one will be willing to go to war. Unbeknownst to him you have an overpair. I say bust him with it and call.
The hands that beat you here would be played differently for a lot more value. I'd be much more scared if you put in a good sized bet and the BB called it with his short stack (but didn't go allin over the top) rather than seeing his overbet on the flop. You are in great position to call this as you don't have to worry about someone coming along for the ride with a set or higher overpair. So I call and let JJ-AA as well 74 and 55,66 and 33 take half of my stack. |

Call. Sure, you don't have a big stack, but you could still make the money with a loss.

Re: Pocket Tens, rags on the flop, do I call an allin?
I think this is an easy call. If you lose, you can still play. If he had a hand you feared (trips, straight, even 2 pair) would he be trying to force everyone out to win 165 chips rather than trying to double or triple up? If he had an overpair (heck almost any pair), he would have reraised preflop. I would expect to see pair of 6s, straight draw, or absolutely nothing most of the time.
I am not sure about limping with 10s here. Depending on the table, this might be time for a big raise (150) to try and get all that limper money. |
