I think it's pretty standard. He's either got a mid pair or an A/K which you dominate. I suppose QJ is remotely possible, if he's a complete maniac. Combined totals of 4th and 5th are about your total so you're far from assured of an ITM finish. Yeah, call.

I call unless the table texture makes me believe that I get into the money through a safer alley.

Re: What do you all think of this one?
With 4 left including the short stack, I'd probably fold. A call is still debatable even then. With 5 (or more), it's an easy call.

Call it, definately +EV vs his probable range of hands.

Re: What do you all think of this one?
I fold, but it's pretty close. One problem with this forum is people love to call too much with AKo when on the bubble or with 5 left and short stacks. If this is a +EV call it's almost surely a very thin one. |

Re: What do you all think of this one?
Okay ran it...not sure if it supports my decision or not. Against the following range (33+,A7o+,A4s+,KTs+), calling is +.2%. Of course this also throws out the window all the skill advantage I would gain later which is pretty signifigant. I don't know, I get the feeling that calling may be correct because they may push KQo and maybe KJo but I don't really know for sure. If I were them I would push both these hands. At that point calling becomes +.7% Either way its a little scary as some players will tighten up considerably when it seems like they can coast into the money or at least they have a very good chance to make the money if they don't take any undue chances. However from a purely theoretical standpoint you should definitely call (Theoretical meaning you are playing against perfect opponents). Probably you should in the actual game situation too. |
