Default Bad Bluff?

semi-bluff until the river, but for some reason he felt weak to me so I pushed the river. I very rarely make moves like this, but this seemed like a good opprotunity against a tight player.

"Don't lose your stack in an un-raised pot."

And that's all I'll say.

River bluff is questionable, depending on your read. HOWEVER, turn bluff was horrible. The flop bluff gives you a chance to steal it right there, + gives you 2 chances to find the gutshot. You bet 100, he calls, no steal but thats ok. Turn miss, he checks, YOU CHECK, you get the river, he bets/check you lose very little. You risked the whole tournament with one the worst heads up hand in Hold Em.

Heres a rule that Sklansky wrote in Tournament Poker for AP that changed my poker life:
"Never make a bet that will make you puke if you get raised."

In this situation, you can attempt a bluff if:
A.) You think hes weak and not counting on your bet (obviously)
B.) You can afford to bet an amount he'll have to fold weak hands to without jeopardizing your whole tourny. Example, if you know he wont fold to anything under 300, and you cant afford to lose 300, dont bluff. If you think he will fold and can afford to be wrong go for it.

Agreed.

The whole point of a semi-bluff on the flop with this hand is that he might fold, and you might get to see free cards. If you bet the turn when he checks to you, you've completely negated the second part of that equation. Don't bet turn here.

Also, unless you have some outstanding read that he'll fold, almost certainly do NOT bet the river if you miss. You missed, whoops. You're not that invested in the pot at this point, no reason to get that way. What happens if he reraises?

I would suggest reading a bunch of posts from the 1-table tournament forum on here regarding this. This is the wrong forum to be questioning tournament play.

WOW.

Sorry, 5 hours of poker today and lots of browsing the small stakes PL/NL forum and my brain is fried. Apologies.
