Simple Query: Pocket pairs/X hands
Please correct me if I am mistaken:
I am dealt a given pocket pair 1/221 hands. So, to find the the number of pocket pairs I should receive over X hands, I use the following formula. (X*13)/221 Seems pretty simple to me, but I noticed I'm off of my pace for pocket pairs by 32 hands(151 Pocket pairs in 3114 hands, where I would expect 183), so I wanted to make sure. Thanks. |

Re: Simple Query: Pocket pairs/X hands
Approach seems right. You could just say that you expect a pocket pair 1 out of every 17 hands. I'd do the standard deviation on it as it seems pretty low, but I'm running out the door. Someone should be able to do it quickly.
Edit: If my math is anywhere near right, your STDEV for pairs in 3114 hands should be ~13.13. You're pretty far outside that range. I may have screwed something up but I really gotta go now =). |
