Default Pocket Aces in Early position.

What was I thinking and what SHOULD have I been thinking:

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, MP1 calls, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button 3-bets</font>, SB calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero caps</font>, MP1 calls, Button calls, SB calls.

Flop: (17 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP1 folds, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, SB folds, Hero calls.

Turn: (10.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (12.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 16.50 BB

You should raise the turn. You're very likely to be best here. If its 3-bet you can call it and check/call river.

Why'd you lead the river after your turn check/call anyway?

after the flop raise i've decided to call down
when the 3rd queen comes on the turn i'm c/r'ing and calling down a 3bet
otherwise if just called im betting out on the river and calling a river raise

I figure 2 hands would have beat me (AQ, KQ), 6 hands I would dominate (KK-88, 66).

The flop raised scared me and I got afraid of the monster under the bed. I believe I should have bet/capped this out once the third Q came out, no?

(P.S. new to the table, no reads)

When the third queen pops out, I think I 3-bet the river. Call a cap and check/call the river...otherwise, bet out and call a raise on the river.

Losing FH to quads is not the worst hand you will ever face.

I probably would have played about the same, but looking at it deeper I agree that betting the turn is the right move. A Qx could be out there, but its just as likely a pocket pair, which you've got beat.

hes gonna have the monster sometimes but the majority of the time hes going to regret ever sitting at the same table with you. punish the villain.
