2001 in w/ vga connect question (supa quick)
I hate asking lame questions, but I have a quick one. I have my Dell 2001 hooked up to my laptop on the VGA connect (blue connector)...anyway looking at the text it looks kind of blurry...look closer and u can see a white outline that is barely visible. So is this standard far w/ the VGA connection or bad Monitor? Just curious.
Havent built my desktop yet so I dont have a DVI connection close by I can try this on. Thanks. Lame question I know. |

Re: 2001 in w/ vga connect question (supa quick)
many laptop outputs can't go beyond a certain resolution, even on a nice monitor, what are the specs on your resolution and such? this could look a lot nicer when you get it setup for good on the desktop.

Re: 2001 in w/ vga connect question (supa quick)
my laptop can handle the resolution fine, Im just curious, is the slight "ghosting" (slight white outline around text) is a symptom of being on a VGA connection and not a DVI connection?
Just curious thats all. |

Most likley: yes. The higher the resolution, the higher the frequency, the higher noice and more blur. Always use the DVI if you can.

Re: 2001 in w/ vga connect question (supa quick)
I had that problem on my 17" and i think i disabled it and reenabled it from my laptop and it auto adjusted to fix the problem.
Edit: I just hit the plus button and it auto adjusts and fixed it. My problem was that I had alternating colums where the text was fuzzy or sharp. The adjusting fixed it. I have a question though... If a video card has both a VGA and DVI slot, can two monitors be plugged in it? I was looking at some dual video cards and all I saw was one of each. When my 2001FP came today it said that I shouldnt hook a monitor in both at the same time. I could have misread it and instead it said dont hook the SAME monitor into the DVI and VGA slot at the same time. Can anyone clarify?? |
