Arnold is in Gray on way out!
Kull the Conquerer has found a new country to conquer, well at least a new state.

Re: Arnold is in Gray on way out!
Anybody who underestimates Schwarzenegger is a fool. It takes a hell of a lot more than muscles to reach the top of two radically different professions (body building and acting). I think he can win this election.

Re: Arnold is in Gray on way out!
Q: What will happen to Governor Davis?
A: Terminated. Posted by a petition-signing voter of California. |

Re: Arnold is in Gray on way out!
Jerry Brown remarked today that his father made the same mistake with Ronald Reagan, assuming that an actor would not be taken seriously.
Anyway, now it's a Total Recall. |

Re: Arnold is in Gray on way out!
Acting? I think you must mean starring, featuring, appearing on screen or something like that. Arnie doesn't do acting.

Re: Arnold is in Gray on way out!

Re: Arnold is in Gray on way out!
Arnold may not be the best "actor", but he is undisputably a big-time movie star with enormous charisma and appeal to a wide variety of people. That is what counts when running for office. A la Ronald Reagan.

Ray--Arnie can win
Actually Ray, Arnold has a significant chance to win. My understanding of the electoral mechanism is this. There are two votes--1. Whether to remove Gray Davis--2. Who to replace him with if he is recalled.
They are taken at the same time. If Davis loses the first vote the second vote is tabulated. The winner is the person with a plurality. There is no run-off. The Democrats so far have not entered a candidate in the second vote, because they think that it would negate the effort to keep Davis in. Thus, if he loses you essentially have the winner coming from a Republican primary with perhaps 25% of the vote. I think Arnold can get that due to name recognition and charisma alone. I agree with you that this will be fun. Maybe Kobe should enter Ragnar |
