Why do ugly people put their pictures on sites such as hotornot?

I bet with like half of them the actual person who put up the picture hates the ugly person and just wants to laugh at them.

I put my pic up there a long long long time ago back when it was a new site...

but yeah a lot of people give freakishly high ratings for girls that are like 6-7's
