Shortstacked, but not TOO shortstacked
How do you play during a $20+2 tourney when you have 6-700 chips at the 50/100 level and blinds won't go up for at least a few hands? I find this time difficult, as lots of players that are somewhat largestacked will reraise a 3X bet (I tend to go by the "if it's 40% of my stack, push" rule) but not many hands are worth pushing for that 150 in blinds.
For instance, with 650t left, 100 bb, cutoff position, 6 players left, 3 fold to you. What do you do with A8s? KQo? KJs? 77? Would you consider a 2X bet for some hands, depending on the read you have on the blinds? This is apart from slowplaying monster pairs of course. thanks in advance |
