Default Finally . . . A win HU

Today I broke my string for most times failing to finish first after getting to HU play. Before today, I had finished second each of the last 13 times I had made it to the final two. Didn't matter if I had the lead or if I got all my money in the pot with an edge. It didn't seem to matter how I play. I always found a way to lose.

But today, I finally broke the streak. Got all-in w/A2 vs QJ. Even then, I had to sweat it as my opponent flopped a J, and I had to wait until the river, the sweet river, to hit my Ace.

Man, that streak killed---just killed---my ROI.

It sure does. I had a streak like that recently where I'd get HU and lose...almost every time. It didn't matter what I did. My ROI went through the floor and hit rock bottom somewhere around -18%. That was fun. My finish distribution was somewhere around:

1st - 5%
2nd - 17%
3rd - 15%

I wanted to put my fist through my monitor. Anyways, good job on breaking the streak!

A2 vs QJ is really not that big of an edge.

Sad to say, but all my losses were not coin flips. I was even losing some dominating situations. But that's poker. Plus, I had my fair share of suck-outs getting to HU. Just not after that.

Right, well, I think the chances of losing 13 HU matches in a row is less than 1:8192. When going in with high blinds (especially as big stack), pushing any two is correct. Say you push 62o and get called by AKo. Obviously not a coinflip, but 62o may still be correct to push.
