Default playing in slooooowwwwww games

(i'm in seat 8). the first situation is standard, and not a big deal. i play tight, don't get any decent cards and so am somewhat shortstacked (maybe add 100 to my first chip count). but how about in situation two? this was a game where another game, which i started at the same time, had already finished!

in the second game, which is very slow, the blinds are much bigger in proportion to stack size, so i have to push quicker, thus with more marginal hands. not only that, but other may be more likely to call since they will probably be shortstacked as well. how do i play in these situations?

I don't know you but from reading some posts I imagine you need to get less emotionally involved in the games. Who cares if it's a slow game?

In the first situation I wait for good cards and play them.

In the latter your only move will be to push of course. When first in the pot you can push junk from sb, top 50% from button, top 30% from CO, top 15% from CO+1 - you get the idea, and reads don't matter much.

i care if it's slow because it puts more pressure to push rather then wait for somewhat better holdings. i also think my pushes are more likely to be called in this scenario, perhaps by more than one person.

On Party Poker time (seconds, minutes) doesn't matter. What matters is the amount of people left, stack sizes, blinds etc etc.

On other sites blinds go up according to a time clock though.

the site says it goes up every ten hands. so the same problem is still there. it has nothing to do with stack size or people left.

13. In Single Table Poker Tournaments, players start with either $800 in chips for tournaments with buy-ins less than $50 or with $1000 in chips for tournaments with higher buy-ins. The Levels for these tournaments go up after every ten hands. In Multi-table Poker Tournaments, levels are on a ‘time’ basis and the time may vary depending on the tournament. Play continues until there is a winner.

ok, I think we agree here. It has to do with the number of hands left at the level. If this = "time" for you, ok by me.
