I think shorty has to have less than the BB for me to fold here. Maybe less than the BB + SB would be enough, but if he can survive another orbit, I'm not even thinking twice about calling with AQ here.

it's not like folding here gaurantees you get at least 2nd. so play fors 1st with one of the best hands in poker.

I've never used ICM, but I'd think this would be a situation where it could figure a range of hands to call with.

With AQ you can figure you are ~50/50 if he has an underpair, or better if he has something like KQ or AJ. The only hands you really have to worry about are AA, KK, QQ, and AK but I would think that the chip leader on the button might just limp (or put up a small raise, trying to draw you all-in) if he had a hand like that. To me it looks like he's trying to take down the blinds and/or has a weak pair or a decent drawing hand at best (the read would depend on his style of play). Either way you at least have an even chance, I'd call no question with AQ.

Given the size of your stack and WLS's if you let him pull that move and take the blinds a couple more times you're basically all done, so I would challenge him while I had a "monster" hand and a decent stack.

I ran it through SNGPT with the button pushing any two and it spat up a calling range of 66+,A9o+,A7s+,KJo+,KTs+ (13%). If he just pushes 22+,A2+,K2+,Q2s+,Q6o+,J7s+,J9o+,T8s+,98s then it gives a calling range of 88+,AJo+,ATs+ (7%). I think villian should be pushing any two here, so the top range is probably good. Even knowing that though I'd probably want AJs+, TT+ for this call because I'm a big pussy like that.
