Look, skill can only overcome the curse so much. It's obvious that the Cardinals will win, it's just how many games it will take. I'll be generous and give the Sox a full three wins.

Does good pitching beat good hitting?
What if the team with the good pitching also has good hitting?

Red Sox in 6.

I agree with your rationale for picking the Cardinals.

I hope it goes 7, and I hope the Sox win. I cared when they lost in 75, BFD'd in 78, and even until 86. Great postseason. I think the best of the NL might be better than the best of the AL the last few years. NYYs got beaten up by an FLA team that was probably the 3rd best, but luckiest, NL team last year. Someone with interleague play stats can show my ignorance on this point, no doubt. Good thing I watch these games on the radio, because I'm not sure if I could handle Buck & McCarver giving helmet to LaRussa.

The heart says Boston; the wallet says Cards. At best its a toss-up and Boston is laying allota wood (not fagina).

Wow.... talk about public opinion swaying the odds. You'd have to be an idiot to put money on the Red Sox with that line.

*snicker*

the fact you had to try and convince people the team he was talking about was the cardinals only strengthens the fact that everyone knows the red sox have a stronger overall pitching staff. the x-factor will really be whether or not, as kersens said, the red sox can get motivated for the series.

methinks they can. sox in 7.
