How to provide a live audio stream?
Hi,
how would one go about providing a live internet audio stream similar to the Cardplayer audio commentary stream of the WSOP ME final table? What would be the costs involved? Thanks, Dean |

Re: How to provide a live audio stream?
I don't know about cardplayer's audio commentary, but you can stream audio with nullsoft's shoutcast serverprogram ( http://www.shoutcast.com/download/ ) and it's free! And yes you need quite a bit of bandwidth for good streaming.

Yes, but I think that shoutcast needs audiofiles and you can't put really 'live' with it. If you want to talk to someone you could use ventrilo http://www.ventrilo.com/ .

This would be for commentary from a bridge tournament. It would be important to have a live stream, or at worst delayed by a couple of minutes.

I don't know if you can make a ventrilo server that allows other not to talk. But if you can then it is good for you.
