Default 10+1 LVL 4: 77 vs min raise, call

Reads: CO has min raised and folded to a reraise in the earlier levels. BTN has limped with 22 and JTs early on. Haven't seen him cold call.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed) converter

BB (t1958)
UTG (t1075)
MP1 (t440)
MP2 (t1206)
CO (t1296)
Button (t1115)
Hero (t910)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

How about if you had no reads?

I think I still push because of the lateness of the raise and call. If it was from UTG and UTG+1 cold call, then I probably fold.

To be honest I don't think the reads tell you much here anyway. I just see myself being 2nd smallest stack and this is a good opportunity for a PVS-style move (even though they have min-raised and cold-called, rather than limp-call) and to have that 400 plus the 150 from the blinds, plus have a decent hand if they call. I think you have a good FE here, too.

There is also the factor of the big stack being directly to your right, so steals are going to be harder to come by, and weak pushes are more likely to be called, which reduces your range somewhat.

I think this is a good place to pick 400 chips. I push as well. Still, the minraise and call worry me.

I folded. This hand is from a month 2 months ago when I first started playing. I was waiting for a situation where nobody showed strength prior to it getting to me. Fearing the min raise as a potential real hand was/is probably weak tight, but at the time I probably feared that a $10+1 min raise could just be some fish's way of raising, regardless of holding. I think the call is what made me get out.

I think my mantra at the time was "no confrontation without a big hand". Clearly I was/am mistaken.
