Default Re: Pharaoh\'s Club Paulson - Blue $1 or White $1 chip?

Ok, I've let everyone have their fun, but this needs to be put to rest. I know we'll lose some group members if I don't change the $1. There's no way around that. But if I DID change it to blue, we'd lose just as many of the "White $1" crowd. I'm not going to apologize to any group, because although I always ask for opinions, it's always my own decision.

The colors will remain as-is. [as-are?] The $1 will be white, and white will also be offered as a blank. The 25¢ will be blue, and the blue will also be offered as a blank. The bottom line is that $1 chips are traditionally white (or grey, or light colered etc). This is for casinos, AND for fantasy sets, or most other sets out there.

There. I said it. Flame on.

I figure you're about ready to gnaw your own spleen out at this point, Ten.

It's been my experience that people who make a big stink over this issue or that aren't going to be satisfied if you meet them on one or more issues. There will always be another reason to back out.

For all I care, make the dang $1 chip purple. It ain't gonna stop me from buying my thousand.

C'mon... what's an Egyptian theme set without a cartouche chip?

No flaming here --- I think the chips look great as-"are".
Have you decided what you're going to use to fill the void on the blank chips? (where the denomination would normally be)

Blue vs white not a deal-breaker for me either.

Great that you decided on a white 1$.. and I wondered if it was possible to make a 10$? using the blue chip and the same layout only thing that would be changed is the denomination. People can then choose which denomination they will use on their blue chip, which again will make it easier to reach 100000 chips... Then the entire set would have standard colors on the chips (and awsome design cant wait)

I tried it already, or at least did research on symbols and forwarded the idea to Johnny5. I gave up on it soon after, I just don't think it's gonna fit well with the theme.

BTW, intereseting image....

I kinda like this one. I didn't like the gold symbol enough to use it.

Right now I'm leaning towards an ankh, a throned king with flail, and a vulture. All simple one-color images, the same as the denom colors. Too bad all the lower number symbols are a little goofy (fingers, frogs, etc) and not very "Egyptian" looking.

The one above is a good idea. I'll strongly consider it. I think it'd be better than the vulture....

Apparently it's the god Heh kneeling in the symbol. Here's a cleaner pic:
