Re: Best Local Beer in your City/Region
I live in CT. I don't consider NE beers such as Harpoon, Allagash, Magic Hat, Long Trail, etc. to be "local." Basically, only CT breweries qualify for me. There are few of those, and I don't think any that are available on a national scale. However, of the bottled variety I think Troutbrook's Liberator Doppelbock is the best.

You have no idea how long I spent on the phone with Stone trying to convince them to ship kegs to Nashville.

Re: Best Local Beer in your City/Region
Stone makes great beers, but I think they are overrated. Their marketing is designed to appeal to "beer geeks." Thus, I think these beer geeks (including myself) frequently give them a bonus when evaluating their beers.

Only sold seasonally (late November usually until about Christmas, or whenever they run out), and only available locally. |

Re: Best Local Beer in your City/Region
Right now its Sweetwater Festive Ale. They only brew it one day a year, and now's the only time of year you can find it.
For the rest of the year, I'm a huge fan of Sweetwater Blue. |

Here in Kansas City it's Boulevard Pale Ale and Tenpenny Ale. Also Pony Express Tornado Ale.
When I'm in Colorado, I load up on Left Hand Brewery's Sawtooth Ale. |
