The answer seems to be obvious- torture the dogs. Wait...wait...Now if you asked me to torture 3 humans to save a dogs life I would say: Easy- torture the humans. Wouldnt you agree that momentary suffering (it is hours after all and not longer) is worth SO much less than life? There are very deep implications in the question.
