She came out in the early 80's and did a bunch of youth films with Coppola and the like, some from S.E. Hinton novels. Rumblefish is probably the easiest one to find. Also one called City on Fire, I think. That one crashed and burned really hard, and I think it hurt her career. I'm not sure what she's done since, but she came back to prominence recently in Unfaithful, and I think another film about a year before that. She spent a long time as a mom.

Streets of Fire.

It was rated R (for no real good reason) and my sis got me in to see it. Not to mention, I didn't even know that was her until I looked at her list of credentials. She's come a long way.

Recently she was in Under the Tuscan Sun.

Actually I worked on Unfaithful, working as a PA and direct assist. I worked with Diane Lane and Richard Gere pretty much every day of the shoot, u know being gofer and such...anyway so every once in a while I would get dianes wardrobe set up for the day, right after shooting her train scene I asked her out...she of course turned me down, she was dating Josh Brolin at the time. Ah well, she has a kid, probably wouldnt have worked out. But I did hook up with a couple of hot extras on that film (I was in charge of also directing them in scenes -- such as what intervals to walk, when and where they will be going in a scene.) So working closely with a lot of girls was a very very good thing.

I thought it would be a nice break from the Portman worshipping that is rampant on OOT. Some of us 'older' guys see her as rather child-like.
