Bonds among the greatest of all time
I know that Barry Bonds will go down as one of the greatest players in the history of baseball. I think he is for sure in the top 50 of all time.
One player that I think has always been underrated is Rafael Palmeiro. I think that it is absurd that people actually question whether he will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I feel that he should also be a first ballot Hall of Famer! I compared Bonds and Palmeiro's numbers from 1995-1999. They were both between the ages of 30 and 35. The stats are as follows: Player --- HR RBI's BA ----------- ---- ----- ---- Bonds -- 186 539 .295 Palmeiro 206 625 .295 Career stats are as follows: Player --- HR RBI's BA ---------- ----- ------ ---- Bonds -- 658 1742 .297 Palmeiro 528 1687 .291 Palmeiro has not slacked off much as he has aged. Over the past four seasons he has averaged 42 home runs and 115 RBI's. At 39 years old he is about six months younger than Bonds. Bonds certainly has not slacked off much either. He has had two career years after the age of 35. Although I think there is a very good chance that he has 'juiced up on steroids'. I do think many other players have also 'juiced up' (possibly Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco, Rickey Henderson, etc). |

But Palmeiro uses viagra. I guess that explains his hot bat.

Re: Bonds among the greatest of all time
I heard rumors that he has a very stiff swing.
