Raise to 550 preflop and push any flop.

Wow, you managed to outplay yourself on two decisions in the same hand. Nice.

Not reraising PF is bad enough but if you were gonna slowplay AK *there* not doing anything on the flop was worse.

He's a maniac. You want him to bluff raise and that means you have to bet at some point.

Play very tight and when you get a strong hand, limp.

isn't this contradictory to this:

You can't play passively against a maniac. You have to beat him at his own game.

No...not really, you want him to raise you so you can rersaise him. Maniacs are fun bc they are easy to trap.

That said, AK is not really a trap hand here.

This is basic...you opted for the riskier move of CRing and you missed it. So what? On a less scary board it wouldve been the right play, but not with those draws. In any regard, a bonafide maniac wouldnt fold a flush draw easily so I doubt there was much you could do to escape your fate here.

I was trying to figure out why on earth he would put me all-in on the turn if he did have a flush.

[/ QUOTE ]

Exactly because you weren\'t expecting him to put you all-in if he had a flush.

There are a few requirements for CR (and slowplaying for that matter), and one of them is having a dry texture on the flop. The call PF is really not good, but not betting the flop is the worst.

You got outplayed here. Kudos to the maniac, he wasn\'t really a maniac after all.
