And other times you play brilliantly and still lose a ton of money. Be prepared for that 100 BB downswing. It will happen. [/ QUOTE ] Let's not forget about the 20+ hour break-even run at the Party .5/1...ugh. Going up 40BB in 3 days, dropping the next 2, up 40, down 40, lather, rinse, repeat... Ugh. I'm such a fish. |

Amen to that. And to another 20 on top for flavor. |

Re: I\'m ready
Assuming that the random distribution of cards between the two tables is uncorrelated (and if you don't believe this you shouldn't spend money to buy books/tools to learn more about poker, rather, you should buy good luck charms), your variance when playing 2 tables simultaneously should be equivalent to playing a single table twice as long. And assuming that your observed variance converges to your "true" variance the longer you play, your swings typically should be lower.
Jeez, it's late and I'm tired. But that's right, isn't it? Of course, that all goes out the window if your play suffers from multitasking. |

Re: I\'m ready
Hi sfer
You're right - but in my case I have concluded multi-tables are not the way to start. My play most probably would suffer from multitasking. And besides, convergence to my true variance or not, if I'm not good enough (yet) I'm gonna lose twice as quick on two tables. And if I can get 10 hours play out of my money rather than 5, it could just be that its during hours 6-10 I figure out where I'm going wrong. |
